Some of you won’t have a clue how significant this day is.
The Munich Air Disaster was an event that tore Manchester United apart. I won’t go into detail, but twenty-three lives were lost, including eight Man United players.
It was news that shocked the world and left our club and the fans broken.
I highly doubt any of us on Tumblr were alive when the MAD happened, but that doesn’t even matter. It’s something that brings us together, that makes us appreciate what we have. It’s a part of Manchester United, and it’s a part of us, albeit heartbreaking.
Those were our men. Those were our boys.
Today is the 54th anniversary of this tragedy.
I don’t expect everyone to mourn or be depressed; all I ask is that people are aware, and that these men are given the respect they deserve, whether you’re a Red Devil, a Gunner, a Culé, or one of Die Roten.

RIP to the victims, including the journalists, Man United staff and the other passengers.
And of course, to our players, lest we forget, our Busby Babes:
LW, GB, EC, RB, MJ, DP, DE, TT.
